Just like a full sized engineering chuck, but only 50mm in diameter, our MM50 and MM54 micro-chucks are ideal for small engineering tasks and spindle work, and weigh under half a kilogram.
Available as a 3-jaw version (MM50) or a 4-jaw version (MM54), our mirco-chucks are miniature, self-centering scroll chucks, complete with 2 sets of jaws - 1 set is internally stepped and the other is externally stepped, which allows the chuck to grip in both compression and expansion modes.
To keep the chuck small, both the MM50 and MM54 micro-chucks are tightened and loosed using 2 tommy bars, (supplied with the chuck) and the rear of the chuck has an M12 x 1 thread, which will mount directly onto many small engineering lathes.
For people with woodturning lathes, we have thread adaptors available, with a choice of M33x3.5, 1" x 8 tpi, and 3/4" x 16tpi to suit the most common lathe spindle sizes. These screw into the rear of the micro-chuck and them mount directly onto the lathe spindle.
We also have morse taper arbors available in 1MT, 2MT and 3MT, which also screw into the rear of the micro-chuck, thereby allowing the chuck to be mounted on any lathe.
