The ToolPost Versachuck is unquestionably the most versatile wood lathe chuck available, and with the appropriate jaw carriers mounted on the chuck body, it's capable of taking not only Versachuck jaws, but also jaws from virtually all other major wood lathe chuck manufacturers.
Jaw carriers to suit Versachuck jaws will also accept Axminster work holding jaws. We also have carriers to suit Sorby, Record, Nova, Charnwood Nexus, Vicmarc, Stronghold, Oneway, Talon and Multistar Titan.
Note that if using other makes of work holding jaw, you need Vesrachuck jaw carriers (jaw slides) appropriate to that make. Other makes of jaw carrier will not fit on a Versachuck body, and please also note that Versachuck carriers don't fit on other makes of chuck body. Versachuck carriers fit only on a Versachuck body but with the appropriate ones, you can then use a huge range of workholding jaws.
Jaw carreirs are fitted to work holding jaws by means of 2 screws per jaw but having additional sets of jaw carriers allows you dedicate a set to each of your work holding jaw sets, to quickly interchange work holding jaws on the chuck without the need to unscrew any carriers.
Jaw carriers for Versachuck/Axminster work holding jaws are supplied with a full set of screws, and we also keeps screws as a spare part in case you lose some in amongst the shavings. We do not supply screws with carriers for other makes of work holding jaw as you will already have them with the jaws.
