Shield Technology ToolGuard VCI corrosion inhibitor - single tub

VCI stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. It's the corrosion that's classed a volatile, not the inhibitor, and is the stuff that is impregnated into the paper you sometimes see wrapped around a new tool when you buy it.

ToolGuard VCI is a small tub (35mm in diameter) that contains a felt pad which is soaked in VCI. When you remove the lid, the vapours from the VCI (which are non-harmful) permeate the air around it, forming a monomolecular protective layer on every surface, be it steel, iron, wood, plastic etc, and because it is a vapour, it will find its way into every nook and cranny.

One tub will protect a space of up to 2 cubic feet for up to 12 months, and provides effective corrosion protection in conditions up to 100% relative humidity, so that's even the dampest of workshops.

Place a tub of ToolGuard VCI inside enclosed storage spaces such as drawers, tool chests and toolboxes, tool cabinets and etc, to protect precision measuring equipment, collets, hand tools,machine accessories, turning tools, lathe chucks and so on from rust. Use as many tubs as you need according to the space inside your storage area, and in drawers use 1 tub per drawer. Each tub has a self adhesive pad underneath, so they can be fixed strategically at any angle to provide uniform protection in bigger spaces such as large cabinets.

Until the lid is removed, ToolGuard VCI has an unlimited shelf life. We have yet to come across an easier way of protecting precious tools from rust, and once opened, ToolGuard VCI will do exactly that for up to 12 months.
