Leadwood is rich brown colour and is a good, dense hardwood that is easy to turn and finishes to a high shine.
NB. Some of these blanks also show some cream sapwood, which is not a flaw as it turns and finishes just as well as heartwood. However, it is minimal and on most of these blanks the sapwood will turn away, so whether or not you considfer it an asset, it is unlikely that you will end up with a two-tone pen. All blanks are selected from the top of the pile.
