Used in conjuction with transfer punches and a disk sander, a magnetic v-block provides a useful way to trim glued-up pen blanks in preparation for turning on the lathe.
Select a transfer punch of a suitable size to go inside the pen tube, and with the v-block held firmly at right-angles to the sanding disk by means of the powerful on/off electro magnet, place the transfer punch in the V of the block to allow the blank to be slid forward on the punch and offered up to the rotating sanding disk.
