What will Brexit mean for our overseas customers?

Phil - Beaufort Ink -  28 Jan 2020 22:00:00 Other articles...

Whether you’re happy about Brexit or sad, for it or against, cheering from the rooftops or crying into your beer, the immutable fact is that the UK is leaving the EU this coming Friday.

So what are the implications for our many, many customers who live in the EU? What is going to change when you buy from Beaufort Ink?

Err, well, nothing actually.

The situation is that when we leave the EU at midnight on 31st January, the UK will immediately enter into a transition period for the rest of 2020. That means that things will carry on exactly the same as now - there will be no import duty, no hidden taxes, and if you are registered for VAT within the EU, you still won’t have to pay UK sales tax.

Things will be just like now in fact, and customers throughout the rest of the world will have nothing to worry about either.

We in turn will continue to offer our highly respected ranges of pen kits, pen blanks, fountain pen nibs, fountain pen ink, pen refills, tools and supplies, with the same high level of customer service as before, and we’ll be adding to our product ranges over the coming months too.

There may or may not be changes to take into account at the end of 2020, and we’ll have to face those as and when they become apparent, but in the meantime, and certainly for the next 11 months, it’s business just as before.

So.....to mark the occasion, we thought we’d show you these bottles of some of our fountain pen inks.

What have they got to do with Brexit? Absolutely nothing whatsoever, but we really, really did want to put a photo here of some sort. However, neither a Union flag and a partying crowd, or an EU flag and a rioting mob seemed appropriate or politically correct, so we’ve shamelessly gone with the fountain pen ink instead.

Nice aren’t they!! The photo is courtesy of Nick Stewart by the way, and if you haven’t tried our fountain pen inks, well, you can guess where this is going, yes?

Ok then, in that case here’s the link: www.beaufortink.co.uk/fountain-pen-ink
