Who knew that today is Mechanical Pencil Day?

OK, we'll be honest and confess that we didn't know either until we received an email from our colleagues at Cult Pens up the road in Tiverton. It's their initiative, and they quite rightly point out that there is a Fountain Pen day, so why not a Mechanical Pencil Day too?

It's no coincidence that today is the day - corny, but not coindcidental. It's 5th July, or in other words 05/07 (or 07/05 if you happen to be in the US) which happens to be the two most popular sizes of lead avialable in a mechanical pencil.
