• Tube length = 69.25mm. Recommended drill size = 3/8 inch

• The Section and Clip Assembly/Mechanism have the same diameter. Therefore both bushes are identical and can be used in either position

• Press the Section Connector into the tube
• Pass the clip gasket over the tenon of the Mechanism assembly and press the Mechanism into the tube. Important: Do not put pressure from your pen press on the click button. Instead, use either of the following two methods to fit the Mechanism -
  1. Make a small block from scrap material, and drill a hole through it at the height of the centre line of your press that is wider than the click button but narrower than the finial which surrounds it - a 27/64 inch or a 10.7mm drill bit will do nicely, which many pen turners are likely to already have. Use the block as a buffer on your press -  insert the click button into the hole and the pressure will be exerted on the shoulder of the finial surrounding the button, not on the button itself
  2. Alternatively, the button can be removed by unscrewing it, which then allows you to press directly on the finial. There are no springs behind the button to get lost, but don’t lose the button itself as we don’t keep them as a spare part, and take care not to cross-thread it when you screw it back on to the nylon male thread from which it came
• Fit the Spring onto the Refill. The Spring is slightly tapered - the thinner end should be nearest the mechanism end of the refill, which will hold it in place once fitted
• Insert the refill, ensuring that it engages with the moving piston inside the mechanism
• Screw the Section onto the Section Connector and test for correct operation
• In use, the refill is accessed by unscrewing the Section.
