PRIVACY

Beaufort Ink is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. It is impossible to function as a retailer without collecting certain information, if only to fulfil orders, and this policy sets out what data we collect and how we use it, which we do in accordance with the EU General Data Processing Regulations (GDPR) and the UK Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)

We reserve the right to alter or amend our privacy policy from time to time by updating this page, which was published on 6th May 2018 and last updated on 2nd August 2019.

What personal data do we collect?
Depending on the level of contact you have had with us and your interaction with our website, we may collect personal identifiers including your name, address, business name, email address, phone number and IP address.

Why?
We use personal identifiers for the purposes of fulfilling orders and recording order history, for upholding warranties and providing customer support, for replying to enquires and fulfilling requests for information, and for direct marketing purposes such as occasional newsletters regarding our products, services and special offers, from which you can unsubscribe at any time. The above forms the basis in law by which we hold personal data, which we have a legal obligation to store for a minimum of 7 years. Beyond the requirements necessary for online ordering and order fulfillment, your data is not shared with any other parties.

What other information do we collect?
In addition we may collect your browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths.

Why?
This additional information is used anonymously to monitor and analyse the performance, relevance and effectiveness of our website and marketing strategies, and in pursuit of our legitimate interests in seeking to develop and grow our business, which together form the basis in law by which we collect and hold it.

What about payment details?
We do not store any payment processing details. All online transactions are processed securely through one of our two merchant services providers, SagePay and PayPal, according to your choice. Your credit card or debit card details and any necessary personal data are transmitted to them using SSL encryption software when your order is placed and we are informed only that payment has been made, not of your card details.

All telephone and mail orders are processed by us using the credit card or debit card details you provide at the time. Those details are not stored and once they have been used for the purpose of processing your order they are destroyed.

Our e-commerce and merchant services procedures are fully certified PCI compliant.

Protecting your data
Rest assured that the data we hold is kept securely, that physical and encrypted electronic means are in place to protect it, and that beyond what is necessary for the fulfilment of our contractual obligations to you as a customer, your personal data is not shared with third parties unless required to do so by law.
If you would like to get in touch about our privacy policy or would like to amend your preferences with regard to our direct marketing, please contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO). You can do so by writing to us at our normal business address, which is Great Wotton Cottage Studios, Colebrooke, Crediton, Devon, EX17 5DL, or by emailing us at our normal email address, which is [email protected]
